The story of young Marie Stahlbaum as she journeys from New York to Vero Beach in December 1919 to spend the holidays with her eccentric Uncle.

Marie Stahlbaum, the family’s beloved wife and mother, recently passed away. Christmas feels anything but magical without Marie as her widow, the stoic Mr. Stahlbaum, and her three children—Louise, Clara and Fritz—struggle to make sense of life without her.

But in Dumas’ version and the ballet, it is almost like it is a dream. D ancing and merriment abound, and it is amusing. The names are changed. Marie becomes Klara; The Stahlbaum become the Silberhaus “Silver house”.
